Introducing…our West Boca High School 2024-2025, Mr. Bull : Gabriel Pacheco!! We all know him from his dazzling spirit at the football games, but who is he and why did he become our Mr. Bull in the first place?
Gabe is originally from Venezuela, and in 2014, his family moved here! One of his favorite places to be in Florida is the beach. When asked, he said, “I think as long as you have a good group of people around you, anywhere is a good place to hang out.” How charming! Family is very important to Mr. Bull, as he mentioned many times that he always makes sure to find time for them even with all his craziness about playing sports and having a role in SGA.
When Mr. Bull is not at school, he is said to always be practicing some type of sport, whether at the gym or not! He can also be seen hanging out at the beach with his friends. Although he allotts most of his time to working tirelessly after school for SGA or at cheer practice (of which he is so excited to be a new member), he also used to work as an intern for a pharmacy, but is now a lifeguard for Coconut Cove Waterpark in South County. Helping people is a knack for Gabe, it seems!
Now, it’s time to delve into why this new Mr. Bull is Mr. Bull. Gabe has known that he wanted to be our class Mr. Bull ever since he saw Mr. Bull, Anthony, his freshman year. “He made my school year great and made me feel good about school during med camp, which he was there for, and just around the hall when I saw him. The pep rallies were also hype, the spirit weeks were fun, and I knew I wanted to be a part of that.” His main motivation to nominate himself to be Mr. Bull was to bring spirit back into school and to make school a fun and safe place for everyone. Gabe claimed that running for Mr. Bull was more exciting than anything because he was able to create the dances and games for the pep rallies with all his friends.
For now, the football games are the most fun job for Gabe, but he also enjoys doing the daily announcements! Although he is mostly looking forward to spirit week! I asked for any plans he has for being our new Mr. Bull and he replied: “Activities and other fun things to get more participation from teachers and students,” along with making West Boca a comfortable environment for all, are Gabriel’s main plans this year. Sadly, he said he cannot give any specifics of those fun plans because they are top secret!
To Gabe, the title of Mr. Bull means being a leader in terms of school spirit and to be a role model for the students at West Boca, also “to be someone that is fun and hype and cool and dandy”!
Fun Fact! Gabe said that, as a pastime, he likes to read. His favorite genres are sci-fi and romance! He enjoyed Dune and The Summer of Broken Rules immensely.
