As we get back into the swing of things with the new school year, clubs here at West Boca are preparing for a school year full of activities. So with the new year comes a new Club Rush! After asking Mrs.Ostrow what Club Rush is all about, here’s what I gathered. Club Rush is student run and sponsored by SGA. Club Rush always takes place during the beginning first quarter of the school year. On Club Rush day all of the clubs and organizations on campus set up information booths, games, etc. to promote their club or organization to recruit new members. This all takes place in the school’s courtyard. Currently at West Boca there are around 80 clubs and organizations on campus. Of those 80, 10 are different chapters of National Honor Societies, and there are dozens of other clubs that are nationally recognized organizations such as: Black Student Union, DECA, FBLA, HOSA, and Latinos in Action. Those were just to name a few. Several other clubs focus on fundraising, sports and recreation, health and wellness and other objectives. As of this moment for this year’s Club Rush, 41 clubs are participating in this year’s club rush event. Many different booths will be set up all around the courtyard during lunch on September 11th, 2024 where students can check out all WB has to offer! So come on out and join some clubs to further help and better your community!

About the Contributors

Hey Bulls! It’s your Co-Editor in Chief Jenna Liotta! A little bit about me: I’m a senior and this is my second year of being a part of The Bullseye. I originally joined to learn how to write better and be able to write about things I was interested in while learning how to run our social media, but now I can’t imagine my life without it. I’m a ballet dancer and I’m one of the Key Club and Dress to Impact Club co-presidents, along with being the vice president of the Financial Freedom Club! I’m so incredibly excited for what this year has to hold. Let’s go, Bulls!

Hillary Hernandez, Reporter
Hi hi, my name is Hillary Hernandez, this is my first year in Bullseye. I’m Venezuelan and an aspiring comic artist. I joined The Bullseye because I wanted to practice my writing skills since I want to become a writer in the future. Plus I hope to bring more art into the newsletter. I’m interested in writing about art, social issues, and anything else that catches my eye.
