As most of us know, the 2024 elections are already on the horizon. On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, we will know our president for the next four years…and maybe four more. It is important to exercise your constitutional right to vote in our American democracy.

If you are 18 years old or turning 18 before November 5th, then you are able to register to vote in order to cast your ballot on Election Day. If you are not 18 quite yet but are 16 or older, then you can pre-register to vote. After you pre-register, on your 18th Birthday you will receive your voter’s registration number in order to vote in the nearest election.
HOW TO REGISTER
The deadline to register for voting is 29 days before election day, which is October 7th for this presidential election. To register to vote in the state of Florida, go to https://registertovoteflorida.gov/home/.
In order to register, you must:
- Be a Citizen of the United States of America
- Be a Florida resident;
- Be at least 18 years old (you may pre-register to vote if you are 16 years old);
- Not have been adjudicated mentally incapacitated with respect to voting in Florida or any other state without having the right to vote restored;
- Not have been convicted of a felony without your voting rights having been restored.
To submit an online application you will need:
- Your Florida driver license or Florida identification card issued by the Florida Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles,
- The issued date of your Florida DL or Florida ID card; and
- The last four digits of your Social Security Number.
