When Richard Goodall stepped out onto the AGT stage for his audition, the audience had no idea that Goodall would soon become a nationally renowned singing sensation. For many years Richard Goodall was just an average man working as a janitor in an Indiana high school. He humbly described himself as “an everyday man who is nothing out of the ordinary.” Goodall’s talent has undoubtedly been described as a “musical gift” by many.
Goodall has taught America a message through his perseverance and resilience. Terre Haute, Indiana, Goodall’s hometown, mayor Jesse Tohill expressed his admiration for Goodall’s inspiring AGT journey. He expresses, “Your courage, your humility and your undeniable talent are a beacon of hope for anyone who has ever wondered if it’s too late to pursue their passion.” Richard’s victory has shown everyone around the world that age is just a number and it’s never too late to explore your passion.

Returning home as the reigning AGT champion, Goodall was brought to tears during a heartwarming pep rally at West Vigo High School where he works as a janitor. Students congratulated him on his success and praised Goodall’s hard work.
