Love is in the air and it’s time for you to ask your crush to be your valentine! Make it a year where you express your feelings to someone instead of bottling them up. There are many ways to express your feelings to your valentine. A few ways are simple, such as writing a letter, while some ideas are bolder like giving someone flowers and a written sign. Disregarding the way you deliver the words “Will you be my valentine?”- it’s the thought that counts.
- Letter: One simple, but meaningful, way of asking out your valentine is giving them a handwritten letter. This letter could be full of thoughtful words, or it could be like an art piece. For example, you can write a meaningful letter and express your deep feelings. On the other hand, if you’re feeling more creative you can create a letter with an artistic style. For instance, a heart shaped letter with a cute design would be pleasing.
- Gift: If you don’t like being creative and don’t want to make a card, then you can give someone a gift. The gifts can vary, such as chocolates, candy, or jewelry. Even though this gift isn’t hand made, it’s still a very sweet idea. Candy or chocolate may be best if you are on a budget. Many have given a bouquet of candy before. This gift is essentially a bunch of candies placed together like a bouquet.
- Flowers & Sign: Are you confident? Well, a bolder choice is asking out your valentines with flowers and a sign. Around this time of the year, flowers are everywhere in the stores. With these flowers you can get a piece of cardboard and get to writing. A simple phrase would be “Will you be my valentine?”, but there are infinite other phrases. An example of a cute and cheesy message is “Have you fallen from heaven because you are an angel! Will you be my valentine?”
- Poem: Personally, I think a poem is the cutest way to ask out your valentine. Anyone can be super unique with a poem. Decorating the card is optional, but an example is cutting the paper into a heart. On the paper you can write a short or long poem about your feelings. For instance, a short and cute phrase can be “Roses are red, violets are blue; I’d love to go out on a date with you. Would you be my valentine?”
- Online Message: Obviously, if your valentine doesn’t live in a travel distance you would need to message them. Other than that factor, a simple message will do. Many would call this a “stupid way” of asking their valentines out, but not everyone is confident. This person may also be shy, which isn’t something to be sad about. Writing a message deep down from your heart would be wonderful. You don’t need flowers or chocolate to ask someone to be your valentine, it is the thought that counts!
This is your year and you can do it! If your valentine rejects you, then that just means they aren’t the one for you. Remember to stay confident and try your best!
