Park Vista hosted the annual Palm Beach County Track and Field Championship on Wednesday, April 2nd. Showcasing 29 of Palm Beach’s top track teams, including our very own West Boca Track & Field Team.

WB Track & Field’s hard work paid off in many athletes qualifying for the County Championships: Omar Taoussi for the Men’s 3200m, Jean Deneus and Ayden Barrett for Men’s Discus, Amson Exantus for Men’s High Jump, and Eranaelle Julien-Jeune for Women’s 200m. West Boca’s Women’s and Men’s 4x100m relays, consisting of Michael Gonzalez, Jordan Spitz, Jeremiah Santacruz, Dominic Caceres, Mackenzie Whitfield, Alexandra Mignano, Eranaelle Julien-Jeune and Bella Gonzalez, also showcased their speed in the meet.
Long distance runner Victoria Stern followed with an amazing performance, qualifying for the 800m and 1600m. Finishing 7th overall in the 800m with a time of 2:31 and 8th in the 1600m, Stern brought pride to our school and acquired team points for West Boca Women’s Track & Field. Currently being West Boca’s most decorated long distance runner, Stern holds the West Boca school records for the Women’s 1600m, 3200m, 4x800m relay, and 5k. Another of West Boca’s most renowned runners, Senior Omar Taoussi, competed in the 3200m and finished 7th overall at 10:25!
As West Boca’s only female sprinter to qualify for an individual event, Junior Eranaelle Julien-Jeune raced in the 200m and ran a personal record of 26.21, landing her in 8th place overall.

Moving onto Field events, West Boca Senior Amson Exantus competed in Men’s High Jump and tied for 11th overall with a height of 1.72m (for reference, that is jumping over a person who is 5 ‘6). Later in the night, West Boca Senior Jean Deneus placed 5th overall with a throwing distance of 38.55m, and Ayden Barrett threw a distance of 36.95m, landing him 9th place. Both Seniors earned points for the Men’s Track & Field Team.
Congratulations to all of West Boca’s Track athletes who qualified for districts!
