Elizabeth Santana is the President of the Student Government Association (SGA). She is dedicated to making the school a more welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone. Elizabeth took on this role to ensure that students feel supported and to drive positive changes within the school. One of her main goals is to help freshmen feel comfortable interacting with upperclassmen, providing them with someone to turn to for questions or advice.
She believes that her most important responsibility as SGA president is to stay organized. She recognizes that an organized approach makes the work of other SGA members easier. One improvement she hopes to see in the school is increased school spirit during Spirit Week. Her goals for this year include hosting fundraisers to foster community, organizing Spirit Week competitions among different grades to determine which has the most spirit, and expressing appreciation for the staff and teachers.
Elizabeth considers herself a strong leader for several reasons. She actively listens to her peers and takes everyone’s opinions into account while also knowing when to have fun and when to focus on getting work done. She aims to ensure that all students feel represented by gathering their thoughts and opinions on various matters and making sure they have a voice in any project.
One challenge she faces is the understanding that she cannot make everyone happy all the time. Nevertheless, with her energy, organization, and commitment, Elizabeth Santana is working hard to lead a stronger and more spirited school community.
