Let’s give a warm welcome to West Boca’s new assistant principal, Dr. Ramos! She’s so excited to be here with us at West Boca! Dr. Ramos says that West Boca gives her “the warm feeling of being home,” and we are glad to have her!
Dr. Ramos comes all the way from São Paulo, Brazil. She began her career as a law student but later discovered her true passion in education. After graduating from Pontifical Catholic University in Brazil, then Rijks University in Leiden, Netherlands, she ended up here in South Florida! When she first came to Florida, she earned her degree as an educator from FAU, and has been living here for 28 years! Dr. Ramos has an abundance of experience up her sleeve; she has a BA in English, a Master’s in Bilingual Education and Leadership, and a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction. She is clearly very well-educated.
Dr. Ramos has been an educator for about 17 years. Her first job as an English teacher and administrator was at Don Estridge High Tech Middle School. She worked there for 11 years! She then became an administrator at Lake Worth High School for 5 years. Now, as an AP here at our beloved West Boca, she is excited to serve her students, families, staff, and community. Dr. Ramos is looking forward to collaborating with the community as she loves being here in the South Florida region.
When she is not wearing her Assistant Principal suit, she has on her yoga uniform, as one of her favorite hobbies is hot yoga! She has two college-graduate sons and loves to be surrounded by nature every chance she gets. She loves the outdoors and loves to go hiking and skiing, and she is also a big animal lover. She loves all animals, from the cutest to the most dangerous! Dr. Ramos has a beautiful Alaskan Malamute, Luke, and a Ball Python snake called Zeus!
In general, Dr. Ramos is extremely kind and polite and was a pleasure to get to know! When asked what she wished to tell all students, she said, “Enjoy this high school year, you are only in high school once, and take advantage of being in an amazing school like West Boca!”
So, if you ever see Dr. Ramos around campus, make sure to give her a big Bull welcome!
