In the vibrant city of Nashville, Tennessee, The Marias made a stop for their Submarine (extended) tour! With plenty of anticipation built up, fans began to line up early in the morning to receive wristbands. However, as one of the attendees, little did we know what was yet to come.
By the time that it had reached a windy and drizzly 8 PM, after hours of standing in line, no one was being let into the gates. Many confused fans began to approach the amphitheater workers, and to our surprise, the concert was being delayed. Everyone was completely unsure if the concert would happen at all! Not much later, fans got drenched by the heavy rain that came pouring, and all we could hear was the roaring thunder nearby.
After an hour and a half had passed, with no sign of the concert happening, many fans had begun to think that the concert was going to be cancelled. Suddenly, screams went out as all fans began to notice that the security was starting to open the gates. We all had hope again!
In disbelief, fans began pushing through the crowds to enter the amphitheater in hopes of securing a good spot in the general admission areas. After bolting over to the best spot possible, everyone was able to make it in! Due to the late time of night, the band had to quickly begin their set and, unfortunately, skip their openers, Julie and Momma.
As soon as the lights turned off, the amphitheater was quickly filled with the loud screams of excited fans, ready to begin the long-awaited concert by hearing the song “Hamptons.” Fans were jumping, screaming, you name it! Everyone was singing the songs word for word, even covering up the sound of Maria’s voice at moments!
Whether it was songs as mellow as “Over the Moon”, or as upbeat as “Otro Atardecer”, the energy was constantly at an all-time high, and it was clear that everyone was having the night of a lifetime! Even when looking around the whole amphitheater, one could see how fans were dancing, jumping, and even crying with joy to hear their favorite songs being played live.
All of a sudden, around halfway through their set, the Marias announced that the thunder nearby would leave them no choice but to end the concert early. With many frustrated and shocked fans, we had to unfortunately walk out without hearing some fan favorites such as “No One Noticed” and “Carino”. Although I expected to walk out bummed over the concert’s outcome due to the weather, I kept a smile on my face, considering that I had the best time of my life while the concert lasted! The lights, energy, and sound were all something to joyfully look back on, and I would relive it all over again if I got the chance to!
