While theaters are overrun with blockbusters and big-name hits, Morbius is yet another superhero movie in a long line of cape flicks slated for release this year. The beloved Marvel character makes his theatrical debut on April 1, 2022, yet as excited fans and casual moviegoers wait for the film’ s release, many of them have many questions. Who is Morbius?
In the comics, Michael Morbius is a biochemist turned into a vampire, and was originally one of the many villains in Spider-Man’s rogues gallery.
What universe does Morbius take place in?
That’s an interesting question. Due to information released by promotional material, fans have speculated on whether the film takes place in a world we have already seen, or if we are entering a new universe entirely. Don’t be fooled by Michael Keaton’s presence and the picture of Tobey Maguire’s Spider-man in the background. Thanks to information released by the director, Daniel Espinosa, we know the film takes place in the same universe as Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
Do I need to watch any movies before seeing Morbius?
While the film does take place in the same universe as Venom, it isn’t necessary to watch any movies before Morbius. However, it is recommended that you are familiar with Michael Keaton as the vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming.
