An Editor’s Farewell: Jonah Lynne
May 2, 2022
It’s surreal to me that this year is already ending. There’s no rhyme or reason to it, but it feels like the 2021-2022 school year went by in the blink of an eye. When I stepped into class for the first time back in August, I had no idea what to expect. Being the editor was not in my original plan, but sometimes the world has plans for us that we never realized.
As the editor of the Bullseye, I have been honored to lead this amazing group of student writers. We achieved countless accomplishments, such as getting over 8,000 new users to our website and acquiring over 500 followers on our Instagram, and being named finalists in the Sun Sentinel High School Journalism Competition. Yet, it is the little moments that I will remember this year for.
I’ll remember getting pictures for the girls’ volleyball regional tournament. I’ll remember interviewing fellow students about how inflation has affected their daily lives. I’ll remember learning about the September 11th, 2001 attacks in the school’s production of 110 Stories.
Thank you to everyone on the staff for making this year as successful and as enjoyable as it was. Without you all, I would not have learned what it was like to lead a newsroom and heard your intriguing perspectives on the issues of the times. Good luck to all my fellow seniors as they go on to bigger and better things in the future. To the staff members returning next year, I only expect the best from you all! Keep doing what you’re doing, and you will only go up from there.
A huge thank you also goes to Mrs. Rosenblum, our advisor. Thank you for being so supportive of the staff and empowering us to share our words in our articles. We could not have done it without you!
This experience has been so rewarding for me, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. The skills I have learned throughout the year will be so valuable both in college and beyond. Thank you, Bullseye!
