West Boca Bulls compete at the School Duel! (Left to right) Sophia DiConza, Alexandra Falvella, Alexa Mushlin.

West Boca’s Bulls took on tv at South Florida’s premier high school television quiz show. Thursday May 9th, West Boca’s competition in the School Duel premiered at 8pm on BECON-TV. The Bulls went up against the infamous Boca High Bobcats.

The School Duel is an academic game show celebrating some of South Florida’s best and brightest. The Duel is formatted like a quiz bowl, with questions ranging from current events to world history. Some questions even asked about each individual U.S. President.

Given less than 5 seconds to answer, contestants surely have their work cut out for them. But, not without reward. Winners receive a year’s worth of Chick-fil-a chicken sandwiches!

West Boca’s Sophia DiConza, Alexandra Falvella, and Alexa Mushlin competed back in February, taking home second place. Although not first, Alexandra says that it was a super fun educational experience!

Congratulations to the talented competitors! Next year for the win!

You can watch the intense match on YouTube, and visit www.schoolduel.tv for more info!

If you believe you are the best of the best when it comes to current and historical events, contact West Boca’s Mr. Matz for more information.

Sofia Sierra, Reporter
Hii, my name is Sofia Sierra and I am a junior here at West Boca. This is my second year on The Bullseye where I plan on writing entertainment and current event pieces. I am the president of West Boca’s Film Club and am on the soccer team and the track and field team. Outside of school, I volunteer at Sugar Sand Park, paint, play video games, and watch movies. I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, playing with my dogs, and traveling. In the future I hope to make big advances in science as a researcher and psychologist.
