Sabrina Macedo is a senior at West Boca Raton High School. In her last year of high school, she is taking a dive into a new journalistic perspective of her high school career. New to the newspaper, she is hoping to explore the events, excitements, and issues surrounding her school and the world around her.
But who is Sabrina? Where did she come from? Sabrina’s parents came from the beachy country of Brazil and immigrated to Florida. Sabrina grew up with one older brother Nick, who at times is either her best friend or nemesis. Sabrina also has a dog named Max. Max has been with Sabrina since 2nd grade and is the apple of her eye. Except when he decides to act like his 40-pound body is actually the same as a small chihuahua. They may act the same but are definitely different.
Sabrina’s main inspiration and role model is her mom. Her amazing, hardworking, determined mother who never gives up. Her mother was also in journalism, which may have influenced Sabrina’s decision to start her newfound career as a West Boca Reporter. But Journalism has always been an interest of Sabrina, since it encompasses everything that’s happening in every aspect and perspective of the world.
Sabrina has always been interested in a variety of different topics, subjects, academic and occupational fields. Starting and finishing her high school career as a medical student, Sabrina has also always been interested in legal studies and politics. She is always ready to discuss the new policies, opinions, and activities circulating in the governments and courts of the world. However, Sabrina’s interests go beyond what she is taught in class. She is in love with everything cinematic or literary. Always running to the theaters at the drop of a new film or play. Always bringing the newest shoes and reading the newest book series.
Sabrina is excited to bring her passion for storytelling to the school newspaper and can’t wait to dive into this new role and share some great stories.
