The West Boca Athletic Department had a fantastic start to the season with a dinner on August 27, 2024, for all the coaches. At the beginning of the year, Mr. Agnew had the idea to host a dinner with food and service provided by our Culinary Academy to kick the year off on the right note. Coaches from our fall, winter, and spring sports attended and had the opportunity to have a sit-down meal together before the hectic season started and they all went their separate ways.
During an interview with West Boca’s Athletic Director, Coach Albert stated that “coaches don’t usually get the chance to interact with each other” because of the different seasons for the sports they coach. The main goal of this dinner was to bring unity and get started on keeping a close camaraderie between coaches throughout the school year. At the very end of the dinner, Principal Capitano gave an encouraging speech that convinced everyone in the room that this would be a great year for our athletic teams.
As the year commences and our athletics begin the athletic team here at West Boca will bring together the student pep and encourage more people to show up for games. All of the coaches will continue to work together this year to keep our support from the students and staff climbing so our teams can continue to win.
