The spooky season has begun and with it the beginning of the frightening, exciting, and enticing nights of horror. That’s right, Universal Studios presents Halloween Horror Nights.
From August 30th to November 3rd, Universal Studios opened its gates to let those poor souls feel the thrills and chills. With so many new houses to visit and with each road blocked by masterfully terrifying scare actors giving you the screams and shrieks of a lifetime, Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights is the best place to be this Fall season.
In order to help visitors both new and old survive their night I have compiled some tips and tricks for you to get by.
When preparing for this haunting event you want to make sure of a few things.
1.) Always bring water. Universal will let you bring a bottle of water as long as it’s closed. Horror Nights last from 6 pm to 2 am and you don’t want to spend a lot of money on water. I promise you, it will get tiring, and you need to be hydrated.
2.) Eat something prior. You’ll be doing a lot of walking, waiting, and standing in line. Might as well be full and well-nourished beforehand.
3.) Bring a phone charger. Another tip is to bring a portable charger in case your phone dies. Mind you this is only if you plan to record or take photos through the night, or if you decide to use your phone to help you wait out the line.
4.) Fast Pass Tickets! This depends on the person but as you will learn, there are a lot of haunted houses at Horror Nights, and it can get very crowded. When I went this past weekend, I got there 30 min prior to the opening and yet the first Haunted House I went to at the front was already an hour and a half wait. Fast pass tickets let you skip past those long lines, and although they may be pricey, they are definitely worth it. A friend of mine said she was able to go to all of the houses solely because she had the fast pass.
5.) Start from the back. If you don’t feel like spending more money on the Fast Pass, then here’s a trick to see as many houses as you can. If you wish to see more houses and waste less time in long lines, start from the back of the park and work your way up. Most visitors start at the beginning, which is why the lines are so long, so if you want to get ahead of the game start at the houses not many see at first glance.
6.) Download the Universal Studios App. If you have already looked at the list of houses and planned which you would like to visit, then downloading the Universal Studios App will be very helpful. The app is free to download, and you will be able to see a map of Universal Studios which will help you navigate through Horror Nights to find the houses and scare zones you want to see the most.
Below I have compiled a list of the scare zones and Haunted Houses featured in this year’s Horror Nights to help you see what you may want to visit and which you will try to avoid.
