Conquered the Cobras, Surpassed the Sharks – Lady Golfers are unstoppable
October 17, 2022
The Varsity Girls Golf Team, in another trimatch, defeated Park Vista and Spanish River high schools yesterday afternoon. The multi-school match took place on our home turf, Osprey Point Golf Course. The Bulls led the match with a total score of 136, which demonstrated their hard work and determination. The girls have been putting in the time and effort, and they knew they had a chance to defeat Spanish River after they played last week. In addition, the talented group also stood tall against Park Vista, making them 2-0 on the day.
Coach Bonina, the Girls head coach, was thrilled- “What a great win over Spanish River who was 9-1. This should give us terrific confidence and the girls’ hard work shows. The timing is great with districts upcoming. This was a total team win and Madison Lowenstein had the lowest score at 37 of anyone today. Happy to get 2 wins over Park Vista and Spanish River, two quality opponents.”
Captain Madison Lowenstein said of the win, “We played really well today and had a good mentality to be able to go out there and beat the team we first got defeated by.”
Rebecca Kittay also commented, “We played absolutely amazing as a team and individually. Even though this is an individual sport, we still practice and work hard together. The team did a great job keeping their head in the game and taking their time on each shot. The team worked to keep their mental part of their game strong and that’s what helped us win. The strength of our team helps with our communication and our ability to play the course within ourselves rather than the other team. Let’s keep this hard work and team building up through districts. Great job everyone!”
Co-Captain Madison Lowenstein shot a great score of 37, and Co-Captain Rebecca Kittay shot a score of 46. The team will play again Monday at Boca Golf and Racquet Club against Boca High. They will play again Wednesday at Indian Springs against Park Vista. “Success in this game depends less on strength of body than strength of mind and character.” -Arnold Palmer. Goodluck ladies!
