The Girls Varsity golf team competed in regionals Monday, October 30th in St. Cloud. The girls competed against some elite teams including some from Broward. They faced some rivals and put their game faces on.
After winning districts, Catherine Andino, who goes by CJ, also won regionals with 2 under. She is excited to compete in states next week. Not only will she be individually facing competition, but she is also representing West Boca as a freshman!
Co-captain Rebecca Kittay said “As this was my final tournament for West Boca, I was honored to be a part of the team for the last four years. I have not only met people this year, but this is the best season that we have had. Going to regionals two years in a row and having someone represent our team in states for the last 3 years is amazing. I am so excited to watch the team grow after I graduate and congratulate CJ for making it to the state competition!”
Co- captain Madison Lowenstein said “I thought we all put a good effort and though we didn’t play our best I am still happy with the season. And very proud of Catherine for first in both districts and regionals in order for her to go to states.”
Coach Bonina said, I am very proud of the team finishing 7th place in regionals and I think it was a great experience for the girls. CJ Andino had a special year so far, as she shot a 70 at regionals and won. She now moves on to the state tournament in Orlando.
The West Boca Girls’ Golf team has had an amazing season. Unfortunately for our 3 seniors, regionals was their last tournament, but we wish them luck in the future!
