The West Boca Bullseye is proud to introduce our newest reporter: Alex Spikes!
An extremely well-rounded student and athlete, Alex has quite the packed resume. Her myriad of interests include cheffing it up in the kitchen, participating in the school’s concert and pep band, and working as a lifeguard/swim instructor at the Boynton Beach Pool. It is easy to say that Alex is incredibly passionate about her activities, as she has been involved in several of them as far back as elementary school!
A Leo with a humble personality, Alex is from Boynton Beach, Florida, and was born on August 4th, 2007. She has also attended all schools in the Boca area. In high school, specifically, she has become an avid participant in our Culinary Program, earning various accolades in both cooking and dessert competitions. She hopes to achieve success in the culinary field, working her way up from a head chef to eventually owning her own restaurant! In fact, she is a senior who has already committed to Keiser University with a major in Culinary Arts. Alex feels that her unique culinary experience will benefit our Bullseye content, as she plans to discuss a variety of food-related topics within the school.
Oh but wait, there’s more! When she isn’t cooking up a culinary storm, Alex dedicates her time to reading and writing short stories as a young author. She had even won the opportunity to have an original poem published in the 2024 edition of the Anthology of Young American Poets, a renowned collection of poetry from students across the country. This young author will most certainly be a valuable asset to our newspaper staff, and we are looking forward to having her with us this school year!
