Ladies and gentlemen.. Introducing… Ms. Coniff! This is Ms. Coniffs first year of teaching at West Boca! She teaches Pre-AICE and AICE classes at West Boca, as well as being a co-sponsor of SGA!
Ms. Coniff has spent her whole life in South Florida. She grew up with a brother who is 3 years older than her. After high school she attended Florida Atlantic University and majored in English education to specifically become a teacher.
Other than working as a teacher and being a property developer on the weekends, Ms. Coniff likes to spend time with her family during her free time. She also enjoys grooving to karaoke, shopping around, and relaxing while she reads.
Ms. Coniff has a daughter who she’d love to do these activities with. Besides humans, Ms. Coniff has 2 dogs, 1 cat, and a bird who she treats like her own.
This year is going to be Ms. Coniff’s 10th year of teaching! Twelve years before teaching she had previously worked in law offices. Ms. Coniff knew ever since high school that she wanted to be a teacher so she pursued her education in the evenings.
Ms. Coniff started her first year of teaching at Lions Creek Middle School 8th grade English. She later moved to Stoneman Douglas High School and taught 10th grade English and 9th grade geography. After Stoneman Douglas, Ms. Coniff taught at the AD Henderson School and then she came here to West Boca.
Not only is it Ms. Coniff’s first year teaching as a Pre-AICE and AICE teacher here, but it’s her first year teaching SGA! SGA stands for Student Government Associations which contains various grades who keep the school’s events running smoothly. They also help come up with fun ideas for our school. Ms. Coniff and Ms. Machado both are Co-sponsors of SGA.
I would say Ms. Coniff has great goals for the future. Ms. Coniff wants to pursue some of her own education in the future and also cast a wider net around her interests. She also exclaimed that she just wants to get through the day and be happy which is something I believe all of us would agree with.
Accomplishments while teaching are on the top of Ms. Coniff’s list! An accomplishment she is proud of is the connections with her students. Her voice was filled with joy when she stated how it’s her favorite part of teaching. She says it brings her happiness to have the student in her life.
After asking Ms. Coniff what she wishes to be doing in the next 5 years she responded excitedly with “I wish to be a West Boca Bull!”
Everyone is very excited to have Ms. Coniff teach here with us at West Boca for her first year. If you ever happen to see Ms. Coniff around school, then give her a warm welcome!
