Sofia Sierra: Editor-in-Chief
Thinking about walking down the stage in a few weeks makes me a bit teary-eyed, knowing that all the memories and growth I have made will seem even more distant. But I would not have had all these memories if it wasn’t for newspaper.
The second I joined, it became a part of my daily routine. I was always excited to come to fifth period to decompress and just write. I met the best people here almost three years ago. People I am still friends with to this day.
Newspaper pushed me to explore interests that I would have never had the opportunity or drive to otherwise. It pushed me out of my comfort zone, giving me a new perspective on the type of life I wanted to enjoy in high school. I got slightly less focused on the looming pressure of college and more focused on doing things that I would be proud of, like coming to a class I love with people I love, doing something I genuinely enjoy. I found some balance.
It’s odd sitting here writing, imagining not having this class to come back to next week. It’s even weirder to imagine my life if it never was.
This year, all my best friends joined newspaper to annoy Mrs. Rosenblum with me, and maybe get some writing done. We ran around school taking pictures for football, filming content videos, throwing parties, and occasionally writing. We all came to class ready to talk, finding comfort in room 5210.
I am really going to miss the Bullseye. The stories, the people, and the memories. I wouldn’t be me without this class.
So if you take anything from my spiel: Never stop working and never stop having fun.
Brianna Jarzomkowske: Co-Editor-in-Chief
I can’t believe this is the end! Senior year is coming to an end and it is time to sign out as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the West Boca Bullseye.
I joined the newspaper my junior year due to my passion for writing. I was definitely nervous at first, but the class welcomed me so graciously. It was and is truly a safe space. Newspaper allowed me to open up and be myself. I was very shy before joining the class, but I quickly learned to love the ability to speak in front of the class without a care in the world.
In the class, you are able to write about whatever you want to express yourself! I was able to write about the passions that I find enjoyable. From College Find Fridays to my article about Ice Spice’s new drink (which ended up getting 4100+ views), I had a blast writing a variety of different articles.
While I was only in the class for 2 years, I had the most amazing time being able to contribute to the Bullseye. During my senior year as Co-Editor-in-Chief I was able to review and help my peers with their articles with my Editor-in-Chief, Sofia! It was so much fun to be able to work with this group of talented writers. Also, I will never forget all of the silly jokes and conversations. It was wonderful to meet everyone who joined this past year and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with you all.
For my next chapter of life I plan on attending Florida Atlantic University for Criminal Justice. I want to either pursue a career as a forensic scientist or digital forensic analyst. Don’t worry, I plan on doing some writing on the side in college. I’d love to possibly publish a romance novel one day. That would be a dream come true!
I am super excited for what is to come in the future, but I will never forget about the Bullseye.
I want to thank everybody who has helped me on this journey of high school. At times it was frustrating, but bumps in the road are inevitable. Keep working hard no matter the circumstances.
Goodbye Bulls!!!
