What is Student Government Up To?

Annael Toledano, Assistant Editor

Hello West Boca! If you were wondering, our wonderful Student Government Association is still actively working to make this year as normal as possible. Our newspaper staff interviewed Ms.Steel and we are happy to provide you with some context to frequently asked questions.

What’s currently happening with SGA?

We are currently trying to plan a spirit week and begin Senior Spotlights for various groups at West Boca. We are working on promoting voting for those who are registered and able to vote in this upcoming election. We’re working on teacher appreciation by putting together teacher sanitizing baskets to show our gratitude during this tough time. We began writing letters to first responders to show our appreciation there as well, and we are going to be working with AVID as support for those students in AVID.

Will there be alternative events to compensate for in school activities?

Yes, there will be spirit week this week 10/26-10/30!

Monday – Monster Monday (Wear your own custom mask)

Tuesday – Twisted Tuesday (Dress as your alter ego)

Wednesday – Wicked Wednesday (Dress as a witch or wizard)

Thursday – Trick or Treat Thursday (Wear Orange or Black)

Friday – Freaky Friday (Wear your class colors)

Freshman Scarecrows: Brown & Yellow, Sophomore Zombies: Green & Purple,

Junior Ghosts: White & Silver, Senior Devils: Red & Black.

Will there be activities for in person students throughout the year?

We would love to do whatever we can but we have to follow district mandates for safety purposes. This is still TBD.

Any additional SGA info you would like to share?

We are working with and sharing many ideas with all the schools in the county so that we can try to provide the best sense of normalcy for the current school year.
