It has become common to walk into theaters and see yet another Marvel picture has been released. However, the time has passed when a fan could skip out on a film or two in their favorite cinematic universe. Now, fans have to stay up-to-date with what’s going on within this hilariously big universe, since it will almost definitely be important later.

Do I need to watch the first Doctor Strange before watching this one?

Audiences will have to watch Doctor Strange’s debut in both cinemas and the MCU to get a full grasp on the characters the new film will present. Characters only seen in the first will play a role in this new film, so make sure that you have watched Doctor Strange before you head to the theaters.  

Since Wanda (Scarlet Witch) appears, do I have to watch WandaVision?

This answer is almost a definite yes. It is shown in various promotional material that some characters from the show are confirmed to return and some are heavily rumored to appear. It is also important to watch the show to understand where Wanda is coming from when we see her in the movie. 

Do I have to watch anything else from the MCU to watch Multiverse of Madness?

I believe that the general audience might have to watch two episodes of What If…?, as it is believed that Benedict Cumberpatch will be will be reprising his role from the series in the film. It is also confirmed through promotional material that Captain Carter, another character from What If…? will be appearing in the film. Audiences might also have to watch the first season of Loki, as it might have a role to play in the film. Spider-Man: No Way Home is also recommended, as seen in the trailers, there will be numerous references to the events that took place. 

Who’s that old guy in the trailer?

In one of the trailers, you can hear the voice of Patrick Stewart, who is famous for playing Professor Xavier in the X-Men franchise, say: “We should tell him the truth.” His character’s wheelchair also briefly appears in the final trailer and various other promotional material, so it is advised to be familiar with the character and his cinematic origins.  

Who is this new character, America Chavez?

America Chavez is a teenager superhero from another planet who has the ability to punch star-shaped holes into other dimensions, with other superpowers like flight and strength. 

Is there a post-credits scene?

Leaks have confirmed that there will be at least two credit scenes, so make sure that you stick around for the credits!
