The West Boca Girls Varsity golf team played an away match last Thursday, October 6th, against Olympic Heights and Spanish River. Our Bulls defeated Olympic Heights but were defeated by the Spanish River Sharks.

The Bulls will have three matches next week. On Tuesday, they are home (at Osprey Point) against Atlantic. On Wednesday, West Boca has a home match against Park Vista and Spanish River. Finally, on Thursday the Bulls will play Olympic Heights on the road.

West Boca’s Coach Bonina said the following: “The next two weeks are important for the team to play well and build momentum going into districts, which is October 24th. We lost to River yesterday, but beat Olympic Heights. Spanish is a very good team, but our team competed. Overall the Bulls played well. Captain Madison Lowenstein shot the lowest score of anyone that day with it being a 3 team match. She shot an impressive 34.”

Captains Rebecca Kittay and Madison Lowenstein agreed that the team played well in their trimatch.  Rebecca said that “This sport is a pure mental sport, and we just need to keep our head in the game. As a player who has been playing for a while, I still struggle to not think about the bad shot even though those shots were in the past. That is something we can work on as a team; let the bad shots go, think about moving forward”.

Madison Lowenstein said that “the team has had a lot of improvement from the beginning of the season, we just need to keep doing what we are doing!”

Good Job Bulls, and good luck next week!
