Will the band be able to continue the streak this year after a 17 year streak of straight superior ratings at MPA?
On March 13th and 14th of 2024 our Symphonic and Wind Ensemble bands will be playing this year at MPA (Music Performance Assessment) held in Boca Raton High school.
For years Vanguard has received straight superior ratings each year and are hoping they are able to continue that streak this year. They have been practicing for MPA since December in order to achieve this goal. They will be tested on a variety of aspects such as their ability to balance, sight read, and musicality during their assessment.
There will also be a student conducted section where both bands will perform Welsh Rhapsody by Clair Grundman. Harrison Filla will conduct Wind Ensemble and Asher Sanchez will conduct Symphonic band.
Last year, not only did both bands receive straight superiors but Wind Ensemble even got a standing ovation from the judges and qualified for state.
