West Boca’s Newest Bull

Everyone around school knows about the new principal and is talking about him. But does anyone actually know him and what his plans for our school are? For that reason, the Bullseye went behind the scenes to his office and asked him a few questions to get to know a little more about our newest faculty addition!

History in education before West Boca?

     I was a Science teacher at Coral Gables Senior High School

What college did you attend?

     University of Miami- Go CANES!

Favorite sports? To play or watch

     College Football, High School Football. To play, Tennis, Scuba diving, Active in Gym

Family?

     I’m Married to Rachel Capitano, Principal of Don Estridge Middle School and we have a beautiful little 3 ½ year old girl!

Plans for the future of West Boca?

     Increase Academics, Competitive Swimming Pool, High Dive Platform, Bull Pride Beautification Projects, Bringing in More Performance Arts

What do you think about pep rallies? Do you think they are beneficial? How many are we having this year? 

     Love pep rallies, I think they give students a fun time for bonding and appreciating our school. I believe we are scheduled to have three this year.  

What’s the most exciting part of your job? 

     Listening to students and learning about their future plans. 

What do you like the least?

     Hearing from students that believe that they have a limited future.  

Freetime?

     Boating with my family, reading, taking my daughter to her activities and watching her grow and achieve. 

If you weren’t in education what would you be doing? 

     I have a Captain’s License, so I would probably be a Captain of a ship or running private charter cruises. 

How can West Boca separate itself from other schools?

     It already is separated from other schools. West Boca High School is the Best! We’re going to build a culture of pride and opportunities that other schools don’t provide.
