What+is+the+ASVAB+test+and+why+should+you+take+it%3F

What is the ASVAB? The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) test is a free test that anybody can take to help explore what career may suit you. This test can be taken by anybody even if they have no interest in joining the U.S Military. West Boca High School will administer the ASVAB test November 15, 2023 at 7:30am. In order to prepare for the test it is recommended you visit  https://march2success.com/ which is a great website to seek free help on any standardized test, even for the SAT! If you are interested in signing up to take this test contact [email protected]

This ASVAB test will test you on 10 different categories:

  • general science
  • arithmetic reasoning
  • word knowledge
  • paragraph comprehension
  • mathematics knowledge
  • electronics information
  • auto information
  • shop information
  • mechanical comprehension
  • assembling objects

For this test, the highest score you are able to score is a 99 and the minimum score required to join the army is a 31. But even if you are not interested in joining, it’s a good way  to test your skills and abilities in order to identify which career path may best suit you. After you take the test, your score will be good for 2 years (by taking this test it does not mean you are under any obligation to join the U.S military).

Evelyn Garcia, Reporter
Hi, nice to meet you! I'm Evelyn Garcia- a senior here at WBHS. This is my second year on The Bullseye and I am also part of our school's symphonic band.  I play the clarinet piano, ukulele, and acoustic guitar.  My parents are from Michoacan, Mexico and I am the middle child of two brothers. I am interested in pursuing a career in film/cinematography and also a possible career in the U.S Air Force. On The Bullseye, I will be writing about the school band and many book reviews. Also, I will report any other important things that are going on in our school today.
