Filling the role of co-editor of The Bullseye has meant more to me than I ever could have imagined when I first joined. Being co-editor-in-chief of the West Boca Bullseye has been one of the most meaningful parts of my high school career, as I’ve had the privilege of working alongside very talented, creative, and driven writers who constantly strive to improve our newspaper.
The opportunity to write about my interests and share stories about West Boca has truly been a blessing, as writing has always been a passion of mine. Journalism has not only helped me perfect my writing but has also drawn me closer to this hobby! I’m especially grateful for how much I’ve learned through this program. Having reported on numerous sports events and academy achievements, I’ve had the opportunity to experience so many things I never would’ve fathomed!
To the future writers of The Bullseye, always remember to be kind and not take life too seriously, but above all, take advantage of The Bullseye! You have the rare chance to communicate your ideas to a wide audience and spread your ideas. Make it count! Take advantage of this time, because it goes by quickly!
I’m incredibly grateful for the memories, friendships, and lessons I’ve learned that I’ll carry with me long after graduation. Thank you to everyone who made this journey so special. I’ll always be proud to have been part of The Bullseye.
So much love,
Mackenzie Whitfield Co-Editor-In-Chief 2025-2026

My final goodbye,
This is a hard message to write because over these past two school years, I’ve come to love all things media, journalism, and photography. After working very hard my first year, I had the honor of becoming Co-Editor-In-Chief with my fellow senior, Mackenzie Whitfield. We had the opportunity to lead our class. After high school, I’ll be taking my academic studies over to Florida Atlantic University to study Urban and Regional Planning with a minor in Real Estate, and I hope to join their club Lacrosse team! After experiencing all of my high school years, my piece of advice is to always try new things. Journalism and The Bullseye were new to me; I had never published an article, posted so much on social media, or done all the things that go into being a part of the newspaper. Also, joining clubs was something new to me, yet I allowed myself to move past the fear, and therefore I was able to be on the boards of many clubs and take many leadership positions. Yet, the fear of trying something new didn’t scare me; that quality of not being scared of trying something new is something I feel has truly made me successful throughout high school. High school is filled with many ups and downs and is really what you make it, so always stay positive and know that there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel.
Signing off,
Jenna Liotta, your Co-Editor-In-Chief 2025-2026!

Dear Bullseye,
As high school comes to a close, I begin to realize how fast time truly went by. Now, I know that the people who told me to enjoy it while it lasts, are all wiser than I thought. I remember working my way towards a clear schedule for my senior year so I’d have the space to take Newspaper, as I’ve always wanted to be part of The Bullseye. I am so grateful and glad I did, and how everything happened in my favor. I learned so much, met so many new people, and was able to do something I love.
I initially joined this class to improve my writing, get involved in school, and further explore my interest in journalism. I failed to realize how much I grew along the way, how being part of The Bullseye has helped me to see that I like going out there to find something worth writing about, shining a light on things that are usually left in the shadows, and collaborating with other people. The newspaper influenced me in choosing to major in communications and media studies in college, as I got to explore my passion for media as well, through writing and photography, which are all aspects of communication.
I know that this class was the beginning of my journey, and I’m so grateful to have had this opportunity, thankful for my peers, and lastly, Mrs. Rosenblum. I will miss writing stories and entering a safe space every day during 5th period…this class definitely made senior year so much better, and helped me in a multitude of ways.
Now I bid goodbye and thank you to The Bullseye, and welcome the next big thing.
With much love,
Julia Lazzarote

As this school year comes to an end, being a part of The Bullseye newspaper has been such an amazing experience for my last year at West Boca. I am so happy that I was able to take a journalism class this year. At the beginning of the year, I was dedicated to covering as many sporting events as possible, doing media, and writing articles. Because of this class, I realized I wanted to switch my intended major from early education to Sports Media with a minor in Sports Management in Gainesville. The connections I made at football games allowed me to grow more than I ever thought. Since I was working closely with Coach Moran on building the Athletics Instagram, I was able to get media credentials for the 2025 FHSAA States game. I also helped with the Bullseye Instagram, getting a lot of media and working with others. Now, going to Gainesville with a clear idea of what I want to do, I am so thankful for this class and for all the opportunities. I would highly recommend anyone, even if you aren’t into sports media take this class. From learning to manage social media accounts to writing articles that interest you, this is not just one of the classes offered here at West Boca!
Go Bulls!

Dear Bullseye,
I feel so grateful to have had a year alongside other writers here and to have had the high school career I’ve had. As these 4 years come to an end, I have been reflecting on my ups and downs, and I’ve come a long way. One of my biggest takeaways from high school is getting involved in all sorts of passions and activities, and going after what I love to do. Joining the student newspaper allowed me to explore my interest in journalism, and I got to dig deep into all sorts of stories.
I plan to major in STEM, yet I’ve been able to explore music, journalism, digital design, and plenty of other creative fields. I highly encourage other students to go after all sorts of hobbies, even if it ends up being just for fun. Art and creativity in different forms have always been a way for me to express myself and to unwind on difficult days, and I’ve met so many incredible people along the way.
Thank you so much to all of the people I’ve met, the teachers I have had, my family, and friends who have helped me throughout the years. Whether it was middle school, freshman year, or my senior year, I have so much love and appreciation for everyone whom I’ve gotten to know and share memories with.
Best wishes, Sara Martinez

As a senior with one week left of school until graduation, I am shocked by how fast the past four years have flown by. All in all, I wish I had cherished all the moments throughout my time at West Boca. I cannot count the amount of times my life has drastically changed, and I am a completely different person from when I started at this school.
I thank Mrs. Rosenblum for being an amazing teacher for the newspaper class, and even for AICE Global. She has been one of the nicest and most supportive teachers at this school. I originally took this class to get more into photography, and throughout the year, the class helped me drastically improve my writing skills, while also allowing me to take pictures at school events with the class camera.
At UCF, I am majoring in Biomedical Science, minoring in economics, and playing club hockey. Through this class, I explored photography and researched every aspect of it, and I plan to use my photography skills by taking pictures for anything and everything at college.
Thank you, everyone, for the help, time, and opportunities that I’ve been given,
Colby Meyer

Hey Bulls!
This past year was such a mark in my life, and I’m so grateful I got to be part of it. Writing for The Bullseye gave me space to explore my ideas and turn things I love into articles! I loved being able to write about things I care about and seeing my words come to life in my articles. It was such a special experience to be part of a team that informs and entertains our school community. With this experience, I learned a lot about writing, reporting, and even about myself and the way I write and organize myself. It helped me become more confident in my writing and my own words. I’ll always remember this year as a meaningful one because I got to do what I love, in my last year here at West Boca, and have fun while doing so! If I could give you guys any piece of advice, let it be this: Don’t be afraid to start something you love, don’t procrastinate on starting now, what can be the key for your growth and enjoyment, take that hard class, join a club, be part of something!

As the school year comes to an end. Unfortunately, so does my time with The Bullseye. I first joined The Bullseye because I like writing about stuff I like and am passionate about. So when my friend first told me about this class, I was super excited to join. However, when I first joined The Bullseye, I didn’t expect to gain much from the class other than maybe stronger writing skills. Little did I know that I would gain an even stronger love for writing. This class allowed me to write about different events I attended and other things I love. This has also been one of my favorite classes this year; it’s so much fun. I loved being a part of The Bullseye this year! I wish I had joined sooner; it was an amazing experience!
Farewell, Amy Levy
