Thanks to their work with West Boca’s Minds Over Matter Club, Rebecca Roldan, Leena Richards, and Mrs. Michelle Lynne were nominated for Palm Beach County Behavioral Health Coalition Heroes!

The Palm Beach County Behavioral Health Coalition aims to “work in conjunction with youth, parents, law enforcement, administration, lawmakers, teachers, business owners, and many other community leaders to change laws, policies, attitudes, and behaviors” around underage drinking, the abuse of drugs, and mental health. The Coalition offers both youth and adult Mental Health First Aid courses in order to “give people the skills to help someone who is developing a mental health problem…”

This organization hosts an annual awards ceremony to recognize youths and adults who help spread “improve behavioral health, recovery support, and mental health awareness in our community.”

There were several categories to be nominated for, and Rebecca Roldan, the president of West Boca’s Minds Over Matter club, won a Hero award for the Youth in Action Category.

Rebecca Roldan says “I want to express my sincere gratitude to Mrs. Lynne, an unwavering supporter of Minds Over Matter and my initiatives to enhance the mental health of students here at West Boca. I am forever thankful for the community we’ve built, where individuals not only assist others but also embark on their own transformative journeys.”

Congratulations again to Ms. Roldan, Ms. Richards, and Mrs. Lynne for all of their hard work and dedication to making our community a better place to live.

If you or someone you know needs assistance, please contact Palm Beach County’s HUB. They offer support, family, career, and necessity services. You can click (Community Recovery HUB of Palm Beach County) for more information.

Hii, my name is Sofia Sierra and I am a junior here at West Boca. This is my second year on The Bullseye where I plan on writing entertainment and current event pieces. I am the president of West Boca’s Film Club and am on the soccer team and the track and field team. Outside of school, I volunteer at Sugar Sand Park, paint, play video games, and watch movies. I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, playing with my dogs, and traveling. In the future I hope to make big advances in science as a researcher and psychologist.
