With Thanksgiving being today, here are some of our Bullseye staff’s favorite Thanksgiving recipes!
Sweet potato casserole- Mackenzie Whitfield
I love this recipe because it’s always been a dish that my family and I make for as our Thanksgiving tradition! The yummy sweet potato mixed with the sweet marshmallows creates the perfect mix!
Step by step
–Cook and mash the sweet potatoes: Place the peeled and cubed sweet potatoes in a saucepan and cover with water. Cook over medium-high heat until tender, then drain and mash with a potato masher.
-Mix and top the casserole: Use an electric mixer to mix the mashed (and cooled) sweet potatoes, brown sugar, margarine, cinnamon, and orange juice. Pour the mixture into a baking dish. Top with marshmallows.
-Bake the casserole: Bake in a preheated oven until the marshmallows are puffed and lightly browned, about half an hour.

Olivier salad- Diana Muradov
As a thanksgiving tradition, my family makes the Olivier salad also known as russian salad, it is a very creamy, cultural dish. When you are making the salad, you always want to add some protein like sausage or chicken, this helps to balance the flavor with the mayonnaise!
Ingredients
6 potatoes, peeled
1 carrot, or more to taste
4 whole eggs
6 large pickles, cut into cubes
1 (15 ounce) can peas, drained
½ cup cubed fully cooked ham, or to taste
1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill, or to taste (optional)
½ cup mayonnaise, or to taste

Apple Turnovers- Julia Lazzarote
This is my favorite Thanksgiving recipe because it’s an apple pie, but better and simpler! It’s delicious, warm, sweet, and so easy to make. I bake it for my family and at times during Thanksgiving, when we can never finish a whole pie, having bits of cinnamon apples and fall goodness is just as good!
Step by step
-Make the apple filling. Add the ingredients for the apple filling (butter, apples, brown sugar, cinnamon)to a medium saucepan and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.
-Assemble the turnovers. Roll and cut the puff pastry and then top with the apple filling. Brush edges with egg wash and then fold and crimp to close the turnovers for baking.
-Bake and serve. Brush the turnovers with egg wash and cut slits in the top of the pastry for steam to escape. Bake as directed. When baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
